Gemtron Corporation Renamed SCHOTT Gemtron Corporation 

April 22, 2008 (Sweetwater, TN) – Gemtron Corporation announced today that the company has officially changed its name to SCHOTT Gemtron Corporation, effective retroactively to April 9, 2008. Gemtron remains a joint venture of SCHOTT Corporation and AGC Flat Glass North America, Inc. (AGC), with SCHOTT as the majority shareholder.

The name change seeks to leverage SCHOTT’s position, and name recognition, as a worldwide leader in the flat glass and appliance markets. SCHOTT Gemtron Corporation produces and fabricates glass and metal products for the residential and commercial appliance markets.

“We see a clear advantage in showing our connection to SCHOTT,” explained SCHOTT Gemtron Corporation President Doug Roberts. “Having a respected global leader as our majority shareholder provides us with an intangible value when it comes to partnering with customers. The appliance industry is moving towards a global marketplace, and through this name change, we are demonstrating to our customers that we have global business experience and connections.”

SCHOTT Gemtron Corporation stated the name change will not affect business operations and will work with customers to process the name change, ensuring a smooth transition.
